Description:
The solo piano version of "Eroica Symphony" newly arranged for the Erard made in 1803! Beethoven was struck by the new French piano given to him by Erard Frères (Erard) in 1803, and the great difference from the Viennese pianos he had mainly played before, and produced masterpieces such as "Waldstein" and "Passions". Also, Ferdinand Ries, who was 19 years old and visiting Vienna to study with Beethoven, wrote in a letter dated October 22, 1803 that Beethoven had played for him his newly composed symphony (No. 3 "Hero") in October of that year. This album was inspired by the historical scene in which Ries expressed his shock that "the heavens and the earth must tremble with that performance. Luca Montebugnoli used a replica of Beethoven's 1803 Erard piano, restored by the excellent Belgian piano maker Chris Mahne, and created a completely new arrangement of the solo piano version for this piano.Speaking of piano versions of Beethoven's symphonies, there have been various arrangements by Hummel, Czerny, Kalkbrenner, etc., in addition to the famous Franz Liszt arrangement, but please pay attention to the new piano version of "Hero" tackled from the novel approach of "Eroica x Erard". Tom Begin's album "Beethoven and His French Piano" (EPRC0036), released on the same label, uses the same Erard 1803 replica to present Beethoven's piano works as well as piano sonatas by Daniel Steibert and Louis Adan (Jean-Louis Adan ), but it is also interesting to note that this release includes Haydn's Introduction to "The Creation" arranged by Steibert, and Gluck's "Dance of the Spirits" arranged by Louis Adan. Luca Montebugnoli is an Italian pianist and fortepianist, as well as a versatile performer, teacher, and researcher. She studied modern piano at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome and period piano at the Conservatoire National de Paris and the Sorbonne, and has given solo and chamber music recitals throughout Europe. He founded the Ensemble Hexameron, an ancient instrument group with flexible compositions, which also performs chamber music versions of the Symphonie des Heroes and other works. He is a professor of piano and fortepiano at the Paris Regional Conservatory and the Bobigny Conservatory in Paris. Tokyo M-Plus
