In September 2021, he will replace Vasily Petrenko, who served as principal conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra for 15 years from 2006, as the new principal conductor of the orchestra. Domingo Indoyan is a remarkable young Venezuelan conductor, who has previously released a collection of French orchestral works and Symphony No. 6 by Latin Grammy-winning composer Roberto Sierra on ONYX. This Japan-only release, commemorating the 30th anniversary of Tokyo M-Plus, features Tchaikovsky's last great work, Symphony No. 6 "Pathétique". This work, which shows the unique frontier that Tchaikovsky broke through, is highly regarded as one of the most representative symphonies of the latter half of the 19th century.The "Pathetique" recorded here is a live recording of a concert held in November 2021, shortly after Indojan assumed the position of Chief Conductor of the RLPO, with Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 1 featuring local pianist Stephen Hough as soloist in the first half and the "Pathetique" in the second half. The concert was held twice on November 18 and 21. After extensive discussions with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and ONYX regarding a special program for Japan, the "Pathetique" was released exclusively in Japan with the full cooperation of the two orchestras. Domingo Indoyan, who studied violin at El Sistema, a music education program in Venezuela, and has distinguished himself with his conducting at the BBC Proms, brings out the charm of this masterpiece with a different interpretation from that of Petrenko's time. This is a limited edition with a Japanese commentary written by Ryosuke Masuda, and the cover and back inlay are also in Japanese. Tokyo M-Plus
