The Bavarian State Opera presents "War and Peace," directed by Cherniakov and conducted by Jurowski. Tolstoy's novel "War and Peace" is a grand-scale depiction of war and social relations against the backdrop of Napoleon's invasion and Russia's "Fatherland War" at the beginning of the 19th century. Prokofiev wrote and composed the script as a grand historical picture scroll, centering on the tragic love story of Andrei Bolkonsky and Natasha and their friendship with their friend Pierre, and concluding with the corrupt aristocratic society, the battle against Napoleon's army, the burning of Moscow, and the Russian victory. Marthe Krasting, who was in charge of dramaturgy for the work, which will be premiered at the Bavarian State Opera in 2023, the 70th anniversary of the composer's death, said, "The "War and Peace" directed by Cherniakov will take place in the "Colonnade" of the Trade Union Hall in Moscow.
