Description:
The solidarity of the Bach musical family is described in many documents, including "The Origins of the Bach Family of Musicians," prepared by Johann Sebastian Bach in 1735. Many members of the family were employed in music-related professions, and it is said that they regularly gathered once a year to sing chorales and improvised songs and exchange professional topics. Thanks to their successes in various fields, the name "Bach family" was used as a synonym for musicians, and the image of the Bach family remained so strong until the end of the 18th century. Ensemble Poliharmonique, Teatro del Mondo, and music director Andreas Küppers have explored the influence of the Bach family on each other, and have selected six pieces from the "Bach Family Works of the Early 17th Century," which Küppers considers to be their starting point, and have added to it works by the Bachs up to the late 18th century. By adding the works of the Bachs up to the latter half of the 18th century, we can compare the works of four generations and learn about their influence on the period. All of the selected pieces are composed with four to six voice parts and basso continuo, and you will be able to feel the influence of their predecessors' works on the works of C.P.E. Bach and other later composers born in the 18th century. Naxos Japan
