Description:
The Ludwig Orchestra was formed in 2012 by members of six orchestras in the Netherlands as a new venue for expression. Together with Barbara Hannigan, who has collaborated with the orchestra since its inception, they have released two albums, "Crazy Girl Crazy" (ALPHA293) and "La Paschone" (ALPHA586/NYCX-10136), which have both received high international acclaim. The small band of the members of the group has been performing in the U.S. and Europe for the past several years. A dance album performed by a small band made up of these members is now available. In addition to Hannigan's vocals on four songs, Lucienne, a "barefoot trumpeter" who has also recorded two solo albums and performs everything from classical to jazz, plays a solo on "Copacabana" and is also a member of the band. The Berlage Saxophone Quartet, which made a big splash in 2021 with the release of the "Goltberg Variations," will also appear.
