Description:
The Waltz King Johann Strauss II, the only real opera! The King of Hungary goes to his vassal Pazman's estate and accidentally kisses Pazman's beautiful wife on the forehead. Pazman is furious and appeals directly to the judge, who rules that Pazman may kiss the queen. The fire at the Ring Theatre in Vienna, which killed 400 people, triggered a decline in the popularity of operettas, and the citizens sought other forms of entertainment. Citizens were looking for other forms of entertainment. After three years of refinement, Strauss wrote the opera "Pazman the Knight," which premiered on New Year's Day, 1892, at the Vienna Court Opera and was performed at the Vienna Opera House in 1893. Despite being a monumental work that marked the first use of the cimbalom at the Vienna Court Opera, as mentioned above, the content was mediocre, and the work was ultimately put in storage without gaining any popularity. However, the music throughout the production was indeed by Strauss, especially the ballet music inserted in the third act, which was very well received, and "Czardasz" is still loved today as an independent work. This recording was made live on October 27, 1975. Eberhard Wächter sings the title role with great enthusiasm under the lively direction of Heinz Warberg, who is well known in Japan. The other singers are flanked by other singers. The ballet music, which was omitted from this version, complements the separately recorded 1993 performance conducted by Alfred Walther, making the work complete. Naxos Japan
