But on the day of the festival, they have no money and are hungry. Then a doctor (actually the Governor in disguise) appears and falls in love with Pércole at first sight. He takes her away, saying he will feed her to the full. The Governor, however, is told that in order for his mistress to be admitted to the court, they must be formally married... "La Pélicole," completed in 1868 by the operetta master Offenbach, is not a work that is often performed, but in the first act, Pélicole sings "My dear, my love, my love, my love, my love, my love. Although not often performed, "La pericole" is an opera-bouffe (a comedy with satire and parody) famous for "My Cousin (Song of Letters)" and "Song of a Drunkard" sung by Pellicoeur in Act I. Minkowski's "La pericole" is a comedy with a satirical and parodic touch. Minkowski, accompanied by his army, Les Musiciens du Louvre, and a cast of the best French singers of the season, will perform at the Opéra National de Bordeaux.
