The Roots Reign, where classic songs are revived in a variety of arrangements! I have selected songs from the past abundance of what I consider to be roots music, indiscriminately and freely, without being bound by any boundaries. Beginning with M1, which has a warm night breeze, followed by M2, famous for the Beach Boys' "The Lion Sleeps," M3, famous for Tokens' "The Lion Sleeps," and M5, which has the fragrance of the blues, the beginning of the album has a consistent roots flavor. The middle part of the album is also lined with light numbers, especially M7, a cover of the Byrds' song that colored Jean & Dean's folk rock period, M9, a song that colored Lovin' Spoonful, and M10 and 11, Beatles' numbers. After S&G's M12, M15, reminiscent of an early Todd Rundgren ballad, M16, with its unforgettable cover, and M18, the originator of "Strawberry White Paper," the final song, M20, written by Van Dyke Parks' brother Carson Gale and well known to everyone, flowed smoothly. The bonus tracks and encore songs were both well-known S&G songs. The last song in particular, a new interpretation of roots music and an expression of gratitude to that man, brought tears to the audience's eyes.
