Dreamy Wandering. Three double basses tell the story of "world music". A collection of works by three old and new double bass players. Each of them plays solo, duo, and trio, changing their performance styles to present a variety of music. As is well known, Isao Suzuki is one of the leading double bass players in Japan, and even now, at the age of 80, his unique musicality continues to shine through. Isao Nishikawa and Kazuya Uechi gacha are musicians based in Okinawa. Nishikawa is a first-class musician who has performed not only with Okinawan musicians but also with top jazz musicians such as Yosuke Yamashita, Fumio Itabashi, and Shota Koyama. Uechi has produced Isamu Shimoji, and is one of the most popular musicians in Okinawa today, performing not only jazz, but also rock and island songs in a wide range of genres. This project began with Nishikawa and Uechi's strong desire to perform together with Suzuki, whom they both respect and admire. Suzuki readily agreed to the request of the two junior contrabass players, and this rare contrabass trio that transcends generations was realized. All recordings were made in Okinawa in June and July of 2010. The tension of the encounter is mixed with a relaxed mood.Each of the three musicians brought his or her own unique style of music, and they never get tired of it. This is a valuable piece that stamps the possibility of "world music" that is not limited to jazz. Recorded in Okinawa. off note
