Philharmonic Winds Osaka gave an outstanding performance at the Midwest Clinic in the United States in December 2019, sending the audience into a frenzy. The CD contains a total of nine works, including "Viva Osakan! ) and nine other works are included on this CD. The final concert of the Midwest Clinic, the main event of the group's 20th anniversary, received a standing ovation from a packed house at the end of 2019, and the group was scheduled to hold its 28th regular concert on March 15, 2020 to close out the 20th anniversary, but was forced to cancel the event. The event had to be canceled. This was a painful decision at the request of the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology due to the government's basic policy decision regarding the prevention of the spread of the new coronavirus.We wondered if there was any way to deliver the music to the audience who had been looking forward to the concert, and this recording was made possible with the cooperation of Brain Corporation and Wako Records, Inc. When faced with a crisis of humanity, should art be discarded? We sincerely hope that our music will ease people's anxieties and that the day will come soon when we can enjoy music wholeheartedly. -Kyotetsu Matsuo, regular conductor of Osakan
