Takashi Yamamoto (Piano)

Description:

The long-awaited new recording by Takashi Yamamoto! The album features nine composers on the theme of "Dreams". Debussy's "Dreaming," which blurs tonality and expresses blotches like a watercolor painting despite being an early work, Poulenc's "Melancholy," which transcends melancholy and tells of the sorrows and joys of life, Sibelius' "Fir Tree," which projects everything onto nature itself, and Brahms' Interlude, in which the clear resignation of his later years quietly spreads. Each piece is dreamlike and beautiful. Each piece has a dreamlike beauty, yet each is full of individuality, and one can enjoy a variety of musical expressions within a consistent theme. <Born in Nagano, Japan in 1983, Yamamoto began playing the piano at the age of 5, won the Grand Prix at the 12th Nagano Piano Competition in 1997, and the 3rd Prize at the 70th Japan Music Competition in 2001. From 2003, she studied at the Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw for five years. In 2004, she won the 3rd prize at the 56th Prague Spring International Music Competition and the "Valentina Kameniková" Special Prize for the youngest finalist. In 2005, she won the unanimous first prize at the 4th Sailer International Piano Competition and the prize for the best performance of Chopin's works. In 2006, she won second prize at the 14th Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition in Salt Lake City, U.S.A. She also won the 33rd Japan Chopin Society Prize. He was awarded the 33rd Chopin Society of Japan Prize and graduated from the Chopin Music Academy in 2008 at the top of his class. He has studied under Masayasu Oshima, Yoshimi Tamaki, and Piotr Paleczny. Based in Warsaw, Poland, he has performed with numerous orchestras including the Warsaw State Philharmonic Orchestra, Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra, Berlin Symphony Orchestra, Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra, and Kyoto Symphony Orchestra.
