The first feature-length animated film by Koji Masunari (director) and Hideyuki Kurata (screenplay), which won the Excellence Award in the Animation Division of the 9th Japan Media Arts Festival with "Kamichu", is now on Blu-ray! This space fantasy depicts the encounters and epic adventures of five children living in the idyllic countryside! The film was nominated for the Generation section (Kplus) at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival and for the Official Selection at the Sydney Film Festival 2010, and has been highly acclaimed not only in Japan but also overseas. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Murakawa Village is a small village surrounded by beautiful nature. There are only five students in the elementary school, including Natsuki Koyama, who has just transferred from the town. Even so, everyone was getting along well and spending their days in good spirits. During the summer vacation, Natsuki, Shu, Koji, Rinko, and Kiyoshi gather at the school for the annual children-only camp, and go into the mountains behind the school in search of their missing rabbit, Pyonkichi. But instead of Pyonkichi, they find a mysterious giant crop circle and a dog lying injured beside it.Natsuki and the others decided to take the dog home and patch him up. The dog was not a dog at all, but an alien from the planet Planet One!
