The long-awaited second installment of the popular collaboration series following "Jacob x Yumi"! Piano unit with Ken Oi, the piano nobleman! Jacob Kohler and Ken Oi. The two pianists met by sheer coincidence, back in 2015, in the TV program "Kanjani no Nishikishite ∞ Piano King No.1 Ketteisen," where the proud piano nobleman of Japan and the assassin/genius pianist from the US met on the program. On that day, both pianists recognized and respected each other's abilities, but time passed without any opportunity for the two signature pianists to perform together. Ken Oi, who had retired from the Keyboard Boys unit, and Jacob, who had successfully launched the hit Jacob & Yomii, were searching for the next collaboration, and by a quirk of timing, this piano unit was born. The project began in the spring of 2022, and after Jacob's painstakingly created scores for two major pianos and more than enough time for individual rehearsals, the still photography and recording took place in a beautiful studio in Tokyo, Japan, with two grand pianos.Jacob's brother, Ben Koehler, a top photographer in the U.S., came to Japan for the photo session, and several high-quality artist photos were taken. The recording session that immediately followed was a serious affair. The performance is gorgeous, flowing, and dainty, almost like a piano spectacle, so gorgeous and detailed and delicate!
