This is the stunning debut album by Steve Bruner, aka Thundercat, who has played bass in Erykah Badu's backing band to West Coast hardcore legends Sucidal Tendencies. Produced entirely by Flying Lotus, this is a gem of a black album, featuring not only his superb bass playing that rivals the likes of Jaco Pastorius, Square Pusher, and Free of Letchli, but also mellow soul tunes that showcase his own sweet voice. Drummer Chris Dave, who is also well-known for his work with Robert Glasper, joins the band, and a cover of George Duke's "For Love I Come" is also included.
