Description:

Emanuel Abühl, a renowned Swiss oboist who has served as principal with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the LSO, combines modern and historical instruments to color a beautiful collection of concertos by the great Couperin. This collection of Coupland's concertos is led by Emmanuelle Abühl (Emmanuelle Abühl), a master Swiss oboist who studied with André Lardro and Heinz Holliger and has served as principal with the Basel Symphony Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and London Symphony Orchestra. François Coupland (1668-1733), one of the most significant and important composers of French Baroque music, composed between 1714 and 1724 the "Royal Consert" and the "Fusion of Tastes, or New Consert", a total of 14 conserts (French Baroque orchestral Suites), five of which were selected and performed in collaboration with outstanding colleagues such as Davito Thomas and Miklós Spányi to perform these beautiful conserts. With the utmost respect for style, color, and tempo, they use a combination of modern (oboe and bassoon) and historical instruments. (Tokyo M-Plus) Contents Coupland:. Consert No. 9 "Portrait of a Loved One" from "A Fusion of Interests, or a New Consert" (1724) / "Portrait of a Loved One" from "Conserts de l'Hôtel" (1714/15) Concerto No. 2 from the Royal Concerts (1714/15) Conserter No. 6 from Fusion of Tastes or New Conserter/ Conserter No. 5 from "Fusion of Interests" or "New Conserter"/ Concerto No. 4 from the Royal Conservatory Performer Emmanuelle Abure (oboe, oboe d'amore, chor anglais), David Thomas (bassoon), Carla Sanfélix (baroque cello), Miklós Španyi (harpsichord), Benoit Farai (theorbo) Recorded August 31-September 3, 2022 & October 5-6, 2023 at Friedenskirche (Mannheim)
