Rare unaccompanied violin works by two composers who were also great pianists! Judith Ingolfsson is a violinist based in Berlin. He has won many prizes, including first prize in the Concert Artists Guild Competition and third prize in the Paganini International Violin Competition. Schnabel was a renowned pianist, and his Sonata for Solo Violin is a free-form atonal work with an impressive melody reminiscent of Eastern European folk songs that occasionally appears. Like Schnabel, Ertmann was also a composer who was famous as a pianist during his lifetime. As a pianist, he specialized in Bach, Beethoven, and Schubert, but his own works are based on free atonal music. His works are rarely neglected today, so this is a rare appearance of a valuable recording. Tobu Land System
