Rufus Wainwright's String Ensemble Concerts finally available on CD!In January 2017, Rufus Wainwright toured the Netherlands with his string ensemble, the Amsterdam Sinfonietta, on a concert tour. Rufus himself curated the ten performances, which reflected his musical inspirations: from Verdi arias to Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell, from Rameau songs to songs from the American Songbook, from French chansons to his own beloved Berlioz songs, and from the music of the Amsterdam Sinfonietta to the music of the Amsterdam Symphonietta. Rufus' family songs and his own songs. The live recordings from five of the ten performances will be released as the album "RUFUS WAINRIGHT & THE AMSTERDAM SINFONIETTA". Rufus brings out the full power of his voice and expresses it in an emotional and moving way. All the songs on this album were arranged for the Amsterdam Sinfonietta for this tour. The album was mixed by Grammy Award-winning Ryan Freeland and mastered by Ruairi O'Flaherty.
