Chicago guitarist Jack Hammond, who released two progressive fusion albums in the early 80's, released his debut album in 1980 as a self-produced album on the Paisley Press label for the first time in 2011. Except for Jack, none of the members who recorded this album have been known to have any musical activities other than this album, with the exception of Larry Imbordino on drums, who played on Jack's second album, and RUSHHOUR, a jazz rock band active in the 80s/90s. Unfortunately, due to these circumstances, this album is one that is not often talked about nowadays, but the content is very unique. While the rhythm section's vividly galloping rhythm section shows the influence of fusion/crossover sounds, Jack's guitar playing has the color of 60's style surf music/blues/psychedelic rock, which was unusual for the time in 1980, and is not an anachronism. It was an old-fashioned, if not anachronistic, style at the time.The album is characterized by a wide range of styles that straddle the boundaries of genres with ease and a progressive sound that is not just an epigone, but a challenging sound, ranging from the aforementioned grooving surf rock to Bach cantatas played on 12-string acoustic guitar, and even heavy psychedelic jams. It is a work that is not just an epigone, but a challenging sound!
