This is the second album by Touki, formed by British-Senegalese musician Amadou Diagne and French-American Cory Sesnec. This album focuses on climate change and environmental activism, blending West African fables, personal stories, and the larger social, economic, and political issues facing our world. The sound blends East and West African styles and traditions with Appalachian banjo, folk motifs, and orchestral arrangements. Touki, which means "journey" in Amadou's native Wolof language, navigates the complex world currents, understanding that the musical journey itself is the destination.
