This is the 17th volume of the bootleg series commemorating the 25th anniversary of the release of "Time Out of Mind" in 1997. Time Out of Mind" was produced by Daniel Lanois and is one of Dylan's masterpieces, backed by a dense and bold sound and Dylan's skillful expression. It reached #10 on the U.S. charts and won a Grammy Award for Best Album, with "Cold Irons Bound" winning Best Male Rock Vocal. It was also the turning point in Dylan's career, which would once again flourish in the 21st century. This 17th bootleg features the latest remix of "Time Out of Mind," as well as outtakes from the 1996-97 studio sessions.By following the album through to completion in versions without overtabs, the process of creating a masterpiece is revealed. CD 1 contains 2022 remixes of 11 songs from the original "Time Out of Mind" album. The remixes were created by Michael H. Brauer of Brauer Sound Studios. Music critic Stephen Heiden writes in the liner notes. The remixes sound like how the musicians in the studio actually played and finished the entire album." It excludes the effects and treatments that Lanois added after the recording. But this is not an act intended to rework a masterpiece that won multiple Grammys a quarter of a century ago. It is an attempt to reexamine a great work of art and present it in a new light. While the sound of the original work was mysterious and enigmatic, the 2022 version of "Time Out of Mind" is focused on bringing the listener as close as possible to the performer.CD2 will contain outtakes and alternate versions of 12 selected songs from the simultaneous 5-CD deluxe edition.
