Description:
EYEHATEGOD has been supporting sludge metal since the 80's. Their latest album "A History of Nomadic Behavior" is their first album in 7 years. In 2014, the band returned to the scene with their first self-titled album in 14 years, "Eyehategod", but original drummer Joey LaCaze died in 2013 shortly after the album's release. In 2018, lead guitarist Brian Patton left the band, and vocalist Mike was forced to battle liver failure. However, after seven years, the newly formed four-piece band has released its sixth album, much anticipated by sludge fans. Death is a part of life, like a roll of the dice. Sometimes you can live normally, and sometimes you have to fight to live. I was in the hospital for three months for liver failure. It was a life-threatening emergency, but I survived." The successful liver transplant surgery has given Mike back his health to play hard shows, and the band has traveled to countries where they have never played before to give overwhelming performances in front of their fans. (In Japan, the band also appeared at EXTREME THE DOJO Vol. 32 in March 2019, and in November of the same year, they performed solo in Japan in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.) Mike says, "We're not a political band, but we've been working on a new album for the last year, and we've been working on a new album for the last year, and we've been working on a new album for the last year. We are not a political band, but it was hard not to be affected by all the news that came out last year. During the recording of this album, I thought a lot about the stupid path humanity has taken and what America has become. I think my feelings about people who don't believe in science and blindly follow nonsensical ideologies may have permeated the songs.A History of Nomadic Behavior is a mixture of recent political turmoil, pandemic fears, and callous hypocrisy. I hate the word positivity. We have to get over the misery of our lives. But there are definitely moments of positivity and joy along the way. I tell Jimmy Bower that when a band stops having fun, it's over, and I'm enjoying the 33 years of EYEHATEGOD as much as ever. <Mike IX Williams - VocalsJimmy Bower - GuitarGary Mader - BassAaron Hill - Drums
