Description:

The world's second Sony Classical recording by Daniele Rustioni, the young Italian maestro born in Milan in 1983, who conducted the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra in June 2016, is a collection of works by contemporary Italian composer Goffredo Petrassi (1904-2003), who was born in Milan in 1904. This album is a collection of works by Italian contemporary composer Goffredo Petrassi (1904-2003). Petrassi, along with Luigi Dallapiccola and Giacinto Scelsi, is regarded as one of the three great masters of 20th century Italian music, and until his later years he was the president of the jury of the Petrassi International Composition Competition (later taken over by Morricone, who studied with him), while using his own cane to discover new talent. He was also discovering new talents. His initial compositions began with neoclassical and melodic works (influenced by Casella, Hindemith, etc.), which were also in vogue, and later developed into atonal and twelve-tone works (Stravinsky, Schoenberg). However, instead of going in a more experimental and avant-garde direction, he composed mainly legitimate orchestral works, using his own techniques to maintain extreme lyrical restraint and a high level of sonic purity.Among his music, the "Concerto for Orchestra" (Concertante) is one of his most brilliant compositional techniques. The works recorded here are also in such "concerto for orchestra" form, musicalizing various idioms within an asymmetrical and vivid geometric framework. Since his debut at the Royal Opera in 2011, Rustioni has appeared at many of the world's most prestigious theaters, including La Scala in Milan and the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, and in 2014 he was appointed principal conductor of the Orchestre Provincial della Toscana, and in 2017 he became principal conductor at the Opera National de Lyon. He is currently known as one of the "Three Young Italian Conductors" along with Andrea Battistoni and Michele Mariotti, and his popularity and presence are rapidly increasing. He has visited Japan several times and has been giving us wonderful music with a flexible sensibility of delicacy and dramaturgy. Sony Music
