The ensemble "4 Times Baroque" was founded in Frankfurt in 2013 by four young players, only 20 years old at the time. One of the most exciting ensembles of the new generation of baroque music performers, the ensemble has already been invited to perform at renowned German and European ancient music festivals to great acclaim. The most basic Baroque trio sonata form - recorder, violin, cello, and harpsichord - differs from other recent additions of basso continuo group instruments in that it beautifully highlights the basso continuo part, which is fundamental to Baroque music. Recorder Jan Nigges studied with virtuoso Michael Schneider at the age of 15, and violinist Jonas Zschenderlein was soloist and concertmaster of the Jugendbarockorchester Bachs Erben at the age of 17.The program by these four performers always aims to keep the audience up-to-date with discussions of the historical context. Their performance has been described as "a fresh, energetic and thrilling performance," with a masterful discernment of melodic lines and a sense of gravitas and even grace. Sony Music
