Christa Ludwig, born in Berlin in 1928, is a mezzo-soprano singer. She made her debut in Frankfurt in 1946 as Duke Orlovsky in "Die Fledermaus". After performing at the Hanover State Opera, she was invited by Karl Böhm to join the Vienna State Opera in 1955, where she sang in "The Knight of the Roses" and "Koch. Her performances with Schwarzkopf in "Der Rosenkavalier" and "Cosi fan tutte" were a major draw at the Salzburg Festival in the late 1950s. In honor of the great German mezzo-soprano Christa Ludwig at the age of 90. This limited edition box contains all the recital albums she ever recorded for the former EMI. The box contains a wide range of her repertoire, but her German lieder (Schubert, Brahms, Mahler) in particular is exceptional, and her intelligent interpretations and flawless singing have pioneered this field. For this release, we have included previously unreleased and first-time CD recordings. All have been remastered at 24bit/96kHz at Art&Son Studio from the original master tapes.Each disc is also enclosed in a paper jacket with the original jacket design. Warner Music Japan
