The Symphonic Serenade, composed shortly before Korngold returned to Vienna from Hollywood after World War II to write the Symphony in F-sharp, creates vivid colors and textures with its large orchestra of 32 violins, 12 violas, 12 cellos, and 8 double basses.Together with the "Interlude," written before Schreker's fame in the German and Austrian opera houses in 1900, this concert will present a graceful string sound that fully demonstrates the high performance skills of each performer.
