Sir Andrew Davies, who took over the baton as "the evangelist of British music" from the late Richard Hickox, has created new masterpieces of British music including Elgar, Dilius, Holst, Bax, etc. The third collection of works by Arthur Bliss (1891-1975) with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus features the world premiere recording of "Mary Magdalene" by Bliss. The collection includes three works. The world premiere recording of the cantata "Mary Magdalene" sung by the famous British mezzo-soprano "Dame" Sarah Connolly, who has collaborated with Androu Davies on several Elgar recordings; the BBC's magnificent orchestra and choir, Chandos, whose magnificent sound is accurately captured in this recording; and the "Piano Concerto" by the famous British singer, Ralph Cousins.
