The Best Deelian of Our Time, A. Davis! A collection of Deelian works related to "Norway"! Since joining Chandos as its resident artist, Androux Davis, one of the best contemporary Deelians, has produced a series of masterpieces such as "Appalachia" (CHAN 5088), "Violin Concerto" (CHSA 5094), and "Orchestral Works" (CHAN 10742). His latest work is a special program of "orchestral works related to Norway," a collection of works by Deelius, who was a close friend and great influence of Edvard Grieg, and which only Androux Davis could have produced. The program includes an arrangement of "Norwegian Wedding Procession" (from the Peer Gynt Suite), also known as the "Wedding March," from the music of his friend and great teacher Grieg.Davis, who has been a member of British orchestras such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the RSNO on previous DeLius albums, will be joined this time by the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, based in Bergen, Norway, which gave a fine performance of "Berlioz: Overtures" (CHSA 5118), The orchestra is fully equipped with Norwegian soprano Anne-Helen Mehn. The music of Diliás, popularized around the world by Thomas Beecham, is on its way to further recognition in the hands of contemporary virtuoso André Davis. This album, themed on "Norway," Deelias' spiritual home, will become an indispensable part of the Deelias story. Tokyo M Plus
