This year marks the 95th anniversary of the Royal Air Force Central Band in the United Kingdom, which has been active since 1920. The previous recording of Nigel Hess: Wind Band Works Vol. 2 "New London Pictures" (CHAN10767) is still fresh in our memory, and this album includes important wind band repertoire such as Grainger's "Lincolnshire Bouquet" and Holst's "Suite for Wind Band," which is the "Bible" of wind band music. The repertoire includes Holst's "Suite for Symphonic Band", the "Bible" of wind band music. Holst's Suite for Symphonic Band uses a revised edition arranged by Colin Matthews from the full score in Holst's own handwriting! The soloist in Langford's Rhapsody for Trombone and Brass Band is Jonathan Hill, principal trombonist of the Royal Air Force Central Band. He has a dexterous side, having majored in classical guitar as well as trombone at the Royal College of Music in England.All of the pieces in this collection are well-known and highly valued by Japanese brass bands!
