The beautiful French violin art of the first half of the 20th century can be enjoyed with the arrival of the Fournier Box! Jean Fournier (1911-2003) was a violinist of the past. He was the younger brother of the famous cellist Pierre Fournier, who was as popular in Europe as his elder brother. Jean Fournier's wife was the pianist Ginette Doyen, and they recorded together the complete Beethoven violin sonatas, sonatas by Fauré and Debussy, and a piano trio with Badura-Skoda on piano and Janigro on cello, which is now hard to find. The recordings are now hard to find. This 10-disc set is an excellent compilation of these recordings. The Mozart concerto with Horvat and the Brahms double concerto with Scherchen are also beautifully performed. Kreisler's collection of small pieces is also superb, and it is interesting that such an elaborate selection was made during the composer's lifetime. You can enjoy the old and beautiful French-style violin art. King International
