Not only his majestic performance of the magnificent "Pictures at an Exhibition" but also his own complementary "From Childhood Memories" is noteworthy. Only the first and second pieces in this collection of piano pieces were written and unfinished, and Samoilov presents them here as a collection of eight pieces, adding six piano pieces by Mussorgsky that evoke memories of childhood.
