The first album released in 1994 by the unorthodox Austrian doom/death metal band VISCERAL EVISCERATION is being reissued. It is their only full-length album and will be talked about as a cult work of gothic doom in later years.The pathological and bizarre lyrical world is directly related to CARCASS, but musically it is completely different, with a solemn and melancholic doom sound similar to PARADISE LOST and MY DYING BRIDE. The composition is unique, with crystal-clear lead guitar intertwined with heavy, delayed guitar riffs, and a mix of male vocals with growls and cleans, and female vocals that are bewitching and lyrical.The morbid theme and the beautiful melody are antagonistic, creating a bizarre atmosphere where grotesqueness and aestheticism coexist. The sound is blunt yet richly melodic, and the construction beauty that weaves fantastic beauty into the gloom characteristic of doom stands out. This work, with its extremely original aesthetic, has been highly acclaimed as a unique masterpiece in the history of gothic doom.
