A collection of works written by Porpora for Ospedale! Music for Venetian Ospedaletto by Stile Galante (Gallant style), an ensemble specializing in 18th century Italian music, formed in 2010 with late Baroque music specialist Stefano Arrège as director. Four famous Venetian ospedales (orphanages, charitable homes) for orphans with basic music education and excellent musical ensembles and soloists have long been among the most important cultural institutions in Venice. Many famous musicians worked at the ospedale, including the famous singer, singing teacher, and opera composer Nicola Porpora, who worked at three of the four ospedales from 1729 to 1747, Of the four ospedales, the most famous is the "Instituto Pietà" where Vivaldi taught, but Porpora also taught singing to girls at an ospedale called the "Ospedaletto," including the very talented solo singer Angiola Morro, known as "Anzoletta.The solo part written for her was very difficult, but José María Lo Monaco sang it beautifully.
