Formed in the mid-60's with the late Arvid "Wegg" Andersen (b/vo) as the backing band for Riki Maiocchi (ex-I CAMALEONTI), the band also included Ritchie Blackmore (DEEP PURPLE) at the time of formation. THE TRIP, a famous band representing the early 70's Italian rock, popular for its technical keyboard work, has been active since '17, and has finally released its first new studio album by the newly reorganized THE TRIP with Pino Sinnone, the only original member. Released from Ma.Ra.Cash Records in Italy in '23 in a limited edition of 300 LPs following the CD! This is the first pure new studio album under the name of THE TRIP in 50 years since "TIME OF CHANGE" in '73, and young members such as Carmine Capasso and Andrea Ranfagni, who have been active around THE SAMURAI OF PROG, have joined the band in '21. Carmine Capasso, Andrea Ranfagni, and other young members who have been active around THE SAMURAI OF PROG since the re-recording of "CARONTE" in 2009.The vintage-toned Hammond organ that symbolizes THE TRIP cuts through aggressively in the opening track, "Joe's Spirit," which is sure to knock out fans of yesteryear, as if the atmosphere of the 70's, with its chaotic mix of psych/hard rock/progressive music, has been brought directly into the present. The album continues with "Fragile Mimi," an epic rock ballad that builds to a crescendo with Andrea's eloquent vocals and string arrangements, and "Momomento," a compact, prog rocker with an organ-hard arrangement and a dizzying array of prog-rock elements. The album also features a strong lineup of songs befitting a revival, such as "Momento Prog," which features an organ-hard arrangement and a dizzying array of prog-rock-like developments in a compact package. Nico di Palo, a well-known member of NEW TROLLS, was invited as a guest on "Il Mio Capitano," a collaboration with Pino Sinnone dedicated to his younger brother Rino. This is a must-have and must-hear album for Italian rock fans, bringing the sound of "the trip" back to the present day!
