The album was inspired by the discovery of Ethel Smythe (a pioneering female composer also known as a women's liberation activist), who has fought uncompromisingly as a composer, a human being, and a woman, and was inspired to complete this album.The program defends the "Voices" of women who might otherwise have remained silent without a strong commitment, and gives Hanni Liang, who was born and raised in Europe and has roots in China, an opportunity to raise her own voice.
