Gawain Glenton, an up-and-coming zinck player who plays in many famous ensembles! 16th century zink (cornet) music set in the musical city of Venice! Gawain Glenton is an up-and-coming cornet (zinc) player who studied with Bruce Dickey at the Schola Cantorum Basel and is active with Il Giardino armonico, Concerto Italiano, I Fagiolini, Il Illyria Consort and others. This is a collection of 16th century zink music with musicologist and old-time keyboardist Silas Walston, who has performed with the Bach Players and the Taverner Consort, as well as with In Echo, the old-time music ensemble founded by Glenton. The collection features works for zink and historical organ & virginal written by various composers up to the end of the 16th century, set in Venice, the city that became the pioneer of the Venetian school of music after Adrian Villalto's arrival in St. Mark's Basilica and a leader in the musical world where international musicians came and went.
