The second live album "MERE, ON STAGE!" by ELLESMERE, a project band by Roberto Vitelli, who also participated in the Italian technical symphonic rock band: TAPROBAN, was released in '25! This album was recorded live on May 25, 2012 at the Prog And Frogs Music Festival, an annual prog rock festival held in Italy at Cascina Caremma, a lodging facility in southern Milan, Italy. The album features John Wilkinson (vo), who also appears on the latest studio album "STRANGER SKIES" as the main vocalist, David Jackson (sax), who is widely known as a former member of VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR, Giacomo Anselmi (bass) from GOBLIN REBIRTH, and Giacomo Anselmi (drums), who is also a member of the band. Giacomo Anselmi (g), Maurizio Guarini (key), who played in the golden era of GOBLIN, and Fabio Bonuglia (key) and Diego Bertocci (drs). The setlist was a well-balanced selection of songs from "STRANGER SKIES" and other studio works except for the debut album.Since its debut, ELLESMERE has been developing symphonic rock with elegant melodies and romanticism more like British rock than Italian rock, with a mood similar to the works of GENESIS and Anthony Philips in the 1970s. The presence of John Wilkinson, whose voice is like Phil Collins', and the band's ensemble that can push and pull with ease, bring this album even closer to the Genesis of the four-piece era, with a deep sound that combines technique, lyricism, and catchiness at a high level. The band's sound is thick and full of technique, lyricism, and catchiness, all blended together at a high level. This is a must-have live recording for fans of the band, capturing the atmosphere of the venue in all its glory, including the MC between songs! A previously unreleased cover of PROCOL HARUM's "Broken Barricades" recorded in the studio is included as a bonus track.
