He is a leading figure in the Italian guitar world and was awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Italy in 2013. He often visited Japan, and the booklet includes a dedication with photos in memory of guitar maker Masatobu Matsumura (1942-2014) and guitarist Nobuo Watanabe (1951-2020), with whom he had a close relationship.
