Description:
A collection of choral works by Bent Seansen (1958-), one of Denmark's leading contemporary composers. The album contains a good balance of secular and religious pieces, giving us an insight into his rich world. The two "Snowbells," which depict his beloved forest landscapes, use a unique sound, one solo and one in collaboration with an ensemble and church bells, and the human voices create an atmosphere as if the wind were crossing the forest. The album also includes two meditative works dealing with "life and death" and a religious work. Recorded in 2013 by the Danish National Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Paul Hillier. (C)RS
