On tour with their last album "The Underside of Power" (2017), which was their first album for the prestigious US label MATADOR, the band performed with world-class bands such as Depeche Mode and Interpol, and also performed at Glastonbury 2019, Algiers, a London/New York based band from Atlanta, returns with their latest album, There Is No Year! The band, which was described as "the gospel version of the Death Grips" upon its debut, continues its innovative and intense post-punk sound with a one-of-a-kind style that swallows everything from Northern Soul to gospel to industrial, resulting in an album that is even more epic and expands the genre in a direction that has not yet been explored. The result is a work of art. The album is produced by Randall Dunn (Sun O, Earth) and Ben Greenberg (The Men, Zs), and from the instant synth pulse heard in the first few seconds, it is clear that Algiers has taken his bet to the next level, both internally and sonically. At the forefront of this evolution is the power that resides in Algiers' multi-instrumentalist and lead vocalist Franklin James Fischer, whose voice and words are the backbone of the album.
