Description:

Also includes the world premiere of the critically acclaimed "Particle Trilogy"! Noriko Ogawa's first new recording in three years is a collection of piano works composed by Yoshihiro Kanno on SACD hybrid disc. Based in England, Noriko Ogawa continues to perform around the world. Her first new recording in three years is a collection of piano works by Yoshihiro Kanno, a Japanese contemporary music composer. Yoshihiro Kanno was born in Tokyo in October 1953, and became internationally known for his string quartet (1976), which won the Monaco-Princes Pierre International Composition Prize in 1979. He is a prolific composer whose works range from orchestral and stage works to chamber music, instrumental music, choral music, and songs. He has also been active in composing works using traditional instruments, electronic music, and computer music, and his experimental and challenging works have been highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad. This disc contains works for piano and other instruments.Afterimage of Light III "Angel's Ladder" was commissioned by Noriko Otake, a specialist in Takemitsu's works, in 2006, the 10th anniversary of his death. The piece offers an opportunity to enjoy Sugano's unique world of piano and computer. Particle Trilogy" is a collection of works composed by Yoshihiro Kanno between 2009 and 2011, jointly commissioned by MUZA Kawasaki Symphony Hall and Noriko Ogawa. The Trilogy, which is also Ogawa's challenge to "play works with something Japanese," has been performed in the United Kingdom, Norway, New Zealand, and France, and has already received high acclaim. The sounds of the Southern bells, Myochin tongs, and Kabuki music box are very original. King International
