This is amazing. The latest recording of chamber music treasure Menahem Pressler in 2012, at the age of 89! Prayerful Beethoven, Schubert, and Chopin SACD Hybrid Edition, the latest album by Pressler, born in 1923 and recorded in 2012, is now available. He was 89 years old at the time of recording, and the pieces are Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 31, Schubert's Piano Sonata No. 21, and Chopin's Nocturne No. 20, which Pressler has been playing for many years. He was a founding member of the Beaux Arts Trio for 53 years from 1955 until its dissolution in 1996, when he made his recital debut at Carnegie Hall at the age of 72. Since then, she has been giving recitals as a soloist all over the world. He is a pianist of "great maturity," so to speak, but his playing has matured over the years, and he conveys the essence of the music directly to the listener. His tone is bright, and his gentle touch, which seems to exude his personality, is heartwarming. The program including this recording was recorded live at the Cité de la Musique in Paris on March 23, 2011 (3079668(DVD)/3079664(Blu-ray)) and is available on video, which conveys the quiet passion of the musicians.
