Amsterdam Sinfonietta, founded in 1988, is the only professional string orchestra in the Netherlands and has been active internationally under the leadership of Candida Thompson, concertmaster since 1995 and artistic director since 2003. The Amsterdam Sinfonietta has gained popularity for its performances and recordings of "string ensemble versions" of various chamber music works by Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Shostakovich, and others. This time, the Amsterdam Sinfonietta, which has been working on a number of new arrangements and commissioned works, and has fostered the enrichment of the "string orchestra" genre, presents a program of romantic gems that it has gradually discovered over the course of its many years of activity. Some are original works for string orchestra, while others are wonderful arrangements of works in which the Amsterdam Sinfonietta excels. With masterpieces by Berg, Korngold, Wagner, Bridge, Strauss, Lecoux, and others, the ensemble will bring out the best of the string orchestra. Tokyo M-Plus
