Copeman plays solo in a private space! The long-awaited recording of Handel's masterpieces including "The Well-Tempered Blacksmith" and "Passacaglia," a master's art that has been refined to a unique flavor, Copeman (1944-), an active master in the world of Dutch classical music, has recorded Handel's suite. The recording was made at his home, playing his favorite instrument, and it is easy to see Copeman in a relaxed mood as he plays with Handel's music. Even the most demanding compositions have a unique flavor, as if the difficulty of the music is unraveled and opened up to the space, a performance that only Copeman could have achieved. The dotted rhythms and other details of the score are also carefully read. Handel was known as an excellent organ and harpsichord player from a young age, and he became a great composer as he traveled to Germany, Italy, and England. The eight suites are now commonly referred to as the "Eight Great Suites. Five excerpts are selected from this masterpiece. The album also includes No. 5, which includes the well-known Variations on "The Tuneful Blacksmith. I have played and recorded a lot of Bach, but I never underestimate the excellence of Handel's music. His music is magnificent, full of emotion, and highly effective in performance. I have played some of these harpsichord suites in concert from time to time, but I thought now would be a good time to record them.I chose the music for one CD. It was also a special experience to be able to record it at home." (Ton Koopman) The seventh and last track on the CD is "Passacaglia," an extremely simple composition with a unique charm (or fear) that seems to project the player's life.
