In this album, soprano Hannah Malkin and the ancient music ensemble La Sfera Almoniosa pursue a deeply personal and emotional expression through Vivaldi's vocal and instrumental works. Moving inexorably between operatic arias, religious motets, and concertos, the ensemble will portray in music the extremes of human emotion, from fury to tender compassion. The program begins with the haunting aria from the opera "The Faithful Nymph" expressing betrayal and longing, and then moves on to the fiery cry of the oratorio "Juditha Triumphant" and the serene, redemptive beauty of the motet "In the fury of fair anger". The program also features lesser-known Vivaldi works such as the Concerto in D minor "Madrigale Style," vividly conveying the transformation of emotions through music.
