The Doors, led by the charismatic vocalist Jim Morrison, have left behind numerous legends in rock history and continue to exert an immense influence to this day. Their fifth studio album, "Morrison Hotel," was released in February 1970 and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2020. The album was produced in just a few weeks, and the band went back to their roots to create a bluesy, rock 'n' roll sound. The album, whose cover was shot at the Morrison Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, debuted at No. 4 on the U.S. album charts and was the fifth consecutive album to be certified as a gold disc.The 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of MORRISON HOTEL is an analog-sized release consisting of two CDs and one analog LP. who has remastered previous Doors albums, and CD1 features the latest remastering of the original album by Bruce Potnick, who has also remastered previous Doors albums. CD2 contains over an hour of previously unreleased outtakes from the recording sessions that show how the songs on the album developed in the studio and how the album was crafted. For example, the tracks "Queen Of The Highway" and "Roadhouse Blues" show how the songs evolved and changed from one take to the next, culminating in the versions that appear on the album. The album also includes rough versions of songs such as "Peace Frog" and "Blue Sunday," as well as the rare "I Will Never Be Untrue," which the band recorded in the studio with Motown's classic "Money (That's What I Want)" and B. B. King's "Rock 'n' Roll. King's "Rock Me" in the studio.The Doors, who were forced to stay away from the stage after the Miami incident in March 1969, produced "Morrison Hotel" in a chaotic situation. This "50th Anniversary Edition" is a rare look back at the making of this album, which gave birth to such popular songs as "Roadhouse Blues" and "Peace Frog".
