The 2nd International Chopin Competition for Period Instruments Live! Angie Chang from the U.S.A., 3rd prize winner! The Real Chopin" project has been conducted by the Frederic Chopin Institute (NIFC/Narodowy Instytut Fryderyka Chopina) in Poland since its foundation, performing Chopin's works on instruments (original and reconstructed) from the time when Chopin lived. Chopin" project, in which Chopin's works are performed on instruments (original and restored) from the period in which he lived. The "Chopin International Competition for Period Instruments" was launched as a major national project in Poland, not to mention the Chopin Institute, to further revitalize this groundbreaking effort to bring the sounds of that period back to life in the modern age. Five years after the first competition in 2018, in which Japan's world-class fortepiano virtuoso Shigehiko Kawaguchi won the second prize, 35 pianists who passed the preliminary rounds gathered in Warsaw for the "2nd International Chopin Competition for Period Instruments" in 2023. The "sounds of Chopin's time" were played continuously for about two weeks. The American Angie Chang tied for third place with China's Chong Yong Huan at the 2nd Chopin International Competition for Period Instruments. Chang, the fourth generation of a musical family, was born in China and raised in the U.S. from the age of 2. She entered the Juilliard School at the age of 10. At the time of the competition, she had already performed with 25 orchestras and won awards in over 20 competitions, including two special prizes at the Horns International Piano Competition in Canada. He has diverse experience and accomplishments in historical and modern instrumental performance on piano, harpsichord, and organ, and is a Yamaha and Bösendorfer artist. Tokyo M-Plus
