Thomas Tronjem (1954-) began his project to record the complete solo piano works of J.P.E. Hartmann with the first volume (DACOCD 874) in 2020. The project was completed with the sixth volume (DACOCD 978) in 2024. Tronjæ and staff at the Royal Library conducted extensive research and investigation of scores, uncovering works by composers not well-known in music history. This time, works by one such composer, Carl Svarts, have been recorded on piano by Tronjæ. Karl Swaetz was born in 1803 in Kiel, the capital of the Duchy of Holstein (German: Holstein), then a Danish possession. At the time, there was a fruitful exchange between the universities of Copenhagen and Kiel. Swaetz traveled to Copenhagen to study under Friedrich Kuhlau. Variations and Polonaise based on the theme "A Wonderful Summer Night" from the hunters' chorus in Kuhlau's Singspiel The Fairy Hill. Sonata in F major in two movements: "Allegro" and "Theme and Variations - Allegretto". Fantasia in C minor on "Four Swedish Folk Songs and Dances," titled "Swedish Charm."Two collections: Six Divertimenti in Waltz Form and Four Merry Rondos. Romantic music reminiscent of Mendelssohn and Beethoven, whom Kuhlau deeply admired. Tokyo M Plus
