The order of songs differs between vinyl and CD/Youtube. Ipanemus is like Brazil's Buena Vista Social Club! The CD-only album ('06) by Ipanemus, a unit of legends from the golden age of bossa nova and samba jazz, will be released on vinyl for the first time at Record Store Day 2024! Ipanemus was formed in the 60's by drummer/percussionist Wilson Das Nevis and guitarist Neko. In 1964, at the height of the samba-jazz era, they recorded the album "Os Ipanemas" for CBS. The album continues to attract record collectors today as a unique work among the samba jazz albums of the time, incorporating the essence of African-Brazilians. Although they later stopped performing as Ipanemas, Wilson and Neko have played on countless Brazilian records by Elis Regina, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Wilson Simonal, Sico Buarruchi, Elsa Soares, and many others. They have been the backbone of Brazilian music. With the guidance of UK's FAR OUT RECORDINGS, Ipanemus will restart in the 21st century with Azimuth drummer Ivan Conti.After releasing "The Return Of The Ipanemas" ('01) and "Afro Bossa" ('03), he released "Samba is Our Gift" in 2006. The album features stylish swinging bossa and roots samba, as well as candomblé, a folk belief of Afro-Brazilians, which is one of the roots of Brazilian music. The music is a perfect fusion of the essence of Brazilian music, and above all, the deep taste of the band's performance and voice, which could be described as a Brazilian version of Buena Vista Social Club, is unique even today.
