Winner of the prestigious "Dutch Music Prize" in 2006 for her passionate playing style, interesting programming and unique performances, Ferstmann has released numerous albums on the Challenge Classics label. She has recorded major violin concertos by Beethoven and Mendelssohn, and now she finally records the Brahms concerto. Coupled with Suk's Fantasy, which requires a rich expressiveness, the album is a must-have for any violinist. She is accompanied by the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra led by Elias Grandi. Elias Grandi has a Japanese mother and will succeed Matthias Bermelt as the new principal conductor of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra in April 2025.The Brussels Philharmonic is a prestigious Belgian orchestra of which Kazushi Ohno is the chief conductor.
