Founded in 2010, the Afghanistan National Institute of Music is an institution that provides orphans, children who earn their living by street peddling, and physically disabled children with appropriate musical education. This album is a piece of music. Folk songs and contemporary works performed on traditional Afghan instruments have a familiar, nostalgic feel, and some of the pieces have been arranged by viola player K. Bishop to give them a somewhat Western feel. Recorded in 2015. (C)RS
